Starting with perhaps the most crucial element of the driver’s workspace – the control panel. In the driver-oriented control panel, the zones for screens and control buttons are clearly delineated to enhance the visibility of displayed information.

An intuitive information and entertainment system, integrating navigation, radio, video playback, phone, and other functions, is accessible through a specially designed non-touch 12.3-inch or other dimensions screen. This screen is controlled by the MAN SmartSelect knob (Fig. 1). This system’s control is intuitive and innovative from both a management and comfort perspective. The innovative MAN SmartSelect multimedia system, developed in collaboration with customers, is easy to operate even under challenging driving conditions. The push-and-rotate control knob, with a comfortable thumb rest and integrated touchpad, allows for precise input actions even in complex driving conditions. MAN SmartSelect is also suitable for night time driving, thanks to its easily recognizable handle illuminated separately.

The seats with distinctive contours in the premium class (see image 2), developed after thousands of kilometres of testing, ensure optimal comfort for the driver. Additionally, you can order the Vario passenger seat, which, when folded forward, transforms into a practical table. (Fig. 3)

Comfortable and multifunctional truck cabin

The 7-zone foam mattress (200 x 80 cm) ensures a comfortable and restful sleep. When not used for sleeping, the bed, with raised headrest, can be used as a sofa. From the bed, you can access various functions, such as the media system, lighting, air conditioning, or window opening, controlled by a remote control. And don’t worry about misplacing it – the remote control is securely attached by a cable.

For storage, the MAN TGX offers more than 1,100 litres of storage space, distributed among shelves, drawers, roof compartments, and other spaces, ensuring order and safer driving (Fig. 3). An extendable refrigerator and a storage compartment under the bed can also be installed.

Smart control and comforts in MAN trucks

The pleasant cabin temperature is maintained by the MAN Climatronic system, automatically regulating the temperature inside the cabin. When the engine is turned off, an additional air conditioning system can be used if needed.

The electric handbrake button can be operated conventionally by a press, but it also automatically activates when the truck is stationary and deactivates when starting to move.

The multifunctional, leather-covered steering wheel provides quick access to many functions. Ergonomically arranged multifunction buttons in two separate control zones. While standing at the wheel, it can be tilted into a horizontal position, making it easier to get in, out, or move within the cabin.

The gearshift mechanism is mounted on a switch on the right side of the steering wheel. It also allows you to select the driving programme and mode. This design of the gear shifter saves space between the seats and enhances driving safety.

Other noteworthy smart features that facilitate the driver’s work include the driver’s card (see image 4), which, when inserted into the designated slot, recognises the language and switches all screen information to it (you can choose from a total of 28 languages); an integrated breathalyser that prevents the vehicle from starting until the driver is ready to drive again; a tire pressure monitoring system that alerts about improper pressure or overheating; a rear view camera that allows seeing what is happening behind the truck on the screen.

So, the interior of MAN trucks is meticulously designed to create a comfortable, functional, and ergonomic workspace for the driver. Every aspect – from adjustable seats and intuitive instruments to advanced information and entertainment systems, as well as spaciousness – is designed to enhance the driving experience. In MAN trucks, priority is given to the driver’s well-being, promoting productivity and efficiency on the road.
