Mercedes-Benz Actros cabin types
The cab serves as the workplace for truck drivers, and it comes as no surprise that comfort, space, and cosiness are paramount considerations for every truck manufacturer. Mercedes Benz offers a range of 17 cab combinations for the Actros, encompassing two width options, five roof types, and three engine tunnel options (320 mm, 170 mm, floor level), catering to diverse cab space, equipment, and comfort requirements.
The CompactSpace cab, as the name suggests, is the most compact version suitable for car transport. It is 2,300 mm wide and offers two engine tunnel options, 170 mm and 320 mm high.
The ClassicSpace cab, available in variants with a width of 2,300 mm, accommodates all three engine tunnel heights, making it ideal for regional long-haul transport.
The StreamSpace cab is available in two widths, 2,500 mm and 2,300 mm, with the latter offering a choice of three engine tunnel heights.
Lastly, the BigSpace and GigaSpace cabs stand out as leaders in comfort and spaciousness within the Mercedes Benz Actros range. Both cabs have a width of 2,500 mm, providing ample space between the driver and passenger seats to ensure freedom of movement. Plenty of lockers and storage compartments, facilitating rest and recovery during multi-day trips. For two-person crews, the GigaSpace cab option is recommended as it provides maximum comfort. And don’t forget that all Mercedes Benz Actros cabs can be customised with various cab equipment options, allowing for personalisation in accordance with individual preferences.
In order to meet the diverse needs of truck drivers and companies in terms of cabin space, equipment, and comfort, Mercedes Benz offers a total of 17 combinations of Actros series cabins. Cabins can be either 2,300 mm or 2,500 mm wide, have three different engine tunnel variants (320 mm, 170 mm, and flat floor), and come in one of five roof types.
If you need a compact cabin, choose the CompactSpace model – 2,300 mm wide, with a flat roof and a 170 mm (Option 1) or 320 mm (Option 2) high engine tunnel. It is particularly suitable for car transport. Also, don’t forget that you can order additional equipment and customise the cabin interior to meet your unique needs. For a detailed comparison of these two cabin variants, refer to Table 1 for comprehensive cabin dimensions.

Another, slightly more spacious variant of the Mercedes Benz Actros cabin is the ClassicSpace. Here, you can choose from three options depending on the height of the engine tunnel – flat floor, 170 mm, and 320 mm (respectively, Figures 2, 3, and 4). For detailed dimensions of cabin types, refer to Table 2. This cabin model is well-suited for regional long-haul transport. To enhance comfort, additional equipment can always be installed in the cabin.

The third Mercedes Benz Actros cabin model is the StreamSpace, which comes in four variants (Figures 5, 6, 7, and 8). Here, you can choose the cabin width for more space if needed. The cabin is ideal for long-distance transportation tasks, and due to low air resistance, StreamSpace significantly contributes to fuel efficiency. Choosing a flat floor model provides more freedom of movement in the cabin and makes it easier to access the passenger side. For a detailed comparison of the four cabin variants, refer to Table 3.

The next cabin model, BigSpace, does not have multiple variants but is an excellent choice for those who appreciate space and neatly arranged items, especially for international routes. With flat floors and a height of 1.99 m between seats, it offers ease of movement and access to the passenger side (Figure 9 and Table 4). Ample space in the cabin and storage areas provide excellent leisure and relaxation opportunities, while shelves and storage spaces ensure that your things are tidy.

The final cabin type, GigaSpace, stands out with its width and height of 2.13 meters (Figure 10 and Table 5). It is the largest and most spacious among the Mercedes Benz Actros cabins, perfectly meeting the needs of a two-driver team. The spacious cabin ensures freedom of movement, space for all necessary items, comfortable rest, leisure, and order. Like other Mercedes Benz Actros cabin variants, GigaSpace can also be further customised to suit individual needs.
